Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university is required. Seminary training preferred, but not required. Can be first ministry opportunity but prefer applicant have at least 2 years of experience in a church setting.  Position does not require ordination




First Baptist Church Macclenny is searching for a Youth Minister. This position is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Senior Pastor, for implementing and evaluating a comprehensive discipleship strategy for youth, while leading the youth ministry (Wednesday and Sunday). Must have an understanding and affirmation of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.


Primary Responsibilities:


May include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Lead Bible study for youth (Wednesday and Sunday) and provide discipleship.   

  2. Equip and empower the youth volunteers and administrative staff that serves in our Youth Ministry (grade 6 through grade 12).

  3. Identify and be involved with the needs of the youth and their families within the church family and community to which the church ministers.

  4. Invest in youth outside church: such as community youth activities, school functions, home visits, hospital visitation, social media, sports events, cards and phone calls.

  5. Identify the unique gifts of youth and provide youth an opportunity to serve in church ministries

  6. Pray and provide full support to our families, as we encourage and challenge our parents to be the primary disciplers of their children.

  7. Coordinate recruiting, screening, and training of all youth workers.

  8. Give planning, direction, and ultimate leadership to ministry events such as Youth camp and mission efforts.

  9. Attend all required staff meetings and complete any reports in a timely and concise manner.

  10. Maintain reasonable office hours

  11. All other duties as assigned


Primary Qualifications:

  • A mature Christian who is growing in their personal walk with the Lord. Model to the church, staff, and parents of youth—a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

  • A personal sense of calling from God to Christian ministry and have the ability to relate well to parents of youth.

  • Ability to lead a staff and volunteer teams by casting vision and organizing the skills and talents of those team members while adhering to the mission, vision, values and policies of the church.

  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal. Proficiency in basic computer skills and software systems.
